Well, I have to admit, I got tired of the way the photos were laid out in my photos page, due to the incredibly narrow layout of this site. Thanks to Firebug, the Firefox add-on, I was able to relatively easily widen things up a little bit with some CSS tweaks. Now, you'll see that the Photos section has 2 columns, which is a big upgrade from only one.
Speaking of photos, you may want to check out the bathroom renovation photos. This project has been hell for everyone involved, but so far it all seems to be worth it.

Well, I've been busy. The photos page has been redone from the ground up. Picasa Web Albums has been great, but I can't stay within the 1 GB size limit, and I'd have to pay for hosting for anything more than that. I figure, if I'm going to pay for web space, why not make it usable for any number of things? So, my long stint with Picasa Web Albums is at an end, and my new web host, WebhostGiant, is here.
I used Gallery2 to build the pages you see in the photos section. It's a pretty interesting system... I'm not about to say it's easy, but it wasn't impossible. The best part, if I do say so myself, is the image zooming. Click an image to see the image details, and then click the image again. The image will zoom in the same window. I grabbed the details for this javascript from The Daily Puppy Website, no joke. It turns out the script package, called High Slide, is free for non-commercial use. I was very excited to find that.
So, I hope you enjoy the new photos site. I worked long and hard to make it what it is, and I've still got some minor improvements coming, so keep your eyes peeled.

Hopefully, you didn't notice my site was down some today (Saturday, June 27, 2009). I have switched from my old CrazyHosting.net web host (which really fell into disrepair) to WebhostGiant, as recommended by one of my friends who works there. I got a great price, and "unlimited" storage and bandwidth. This means, soon, I will be transferring all of my images back to being hosted on kabby.net instead of being hosted on Picasa and Windows Live. I'm very excited about that, albeit a bit overwhelmed at the task of doing it.
So, enjoy the new webhost in whatever way you'd like. I, for one, have a lot of work to do.

Unfortunately, with Driscoll battle over and lost, there isn't much to talk about. I want to extend my thanks to Gene Faut for his truly dedicated attempt to save Driscoll.
In drastically less important site-related news, I updated the ugly favicon into something a bit more appropriate.
